The Walks 'N' Wags Pet First Aid course is to our knowledge, the pioneer program in Canada, developed in Calgary in 1993. Nurse Ethne Dickinson of Oakland Educational Services Ltd. spent 18 months of careful development, in consultation with veterinarians and animal health technologists and ran her first course in Calgary. Over the years, the program expanded across Canada.

In September 2007, Walks 'N' Wags Pet Care took over the administration of this wonderful Pet First Aid program. We are recognized internationally and have been seen nationally on The Pet Network as well as City TV, Vancouver.

Since 2007, we have extensively updated the course and expanded our Instructor base. We currently offer classes in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Newfoundland and New York, U.S.A. Anyone from outside of the above areas is welcome to complete our comprehensive Distance Learning Program.

We are also more then willing to work together with rescue groups, dog daycares, and other animal organizations to run a custom course that suits your needs. For example, recently, we ran custom workshops for Purina's Children's Summer Camp and for Instructors at British Columbia's Justice Institute.
